NO-BAKE CHOCOLATE BALLS (CHOKLADBOLLAR)

With only 4 ingredients, this no-bake chocolate balls recipe takes no longer than 15 minutes to make and roll. They are the perfect dessert snack when you have no time to make anything more elaborate, or as a side to your cup of tea/coffee. Adapted from the Swedish "chokladbollar", these chocolate balls are so good, you'll lose count of how many you have!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 can condensed milk (about 400g)

  • 200g biscuits, crushed (any kind works, I used Leibniz)

  • 24 tablespoons shredded coconut

  • 3 tablespoons of cocoa

  • Bowl of shredded coconut, to top

  • Bowl of crushed biscuits, to top

PREPARATION

1. In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together until well-combined and dough-like.

2. Using your hands, scoop out the dough and roll them into equal balls onto a pan or baking sheet.

3. Roll each ball into the shredded coconut or crushed biscuits to top. Feel free to experiment with different toppings as well (nuts, oreos, lotus, etc.)

4. You can eat them right away, or refrigerate them so they are cold and firm. That is a matter of preference.

Notes:
You can get creative and add nuts or Nutella to the mixture for a more ‘truffle’ like consistency.

These chocolate balls can be eaten cold or at room temperature.

This recipe is adapted from the Swedish “chokladbollar”. In fact, May 11 is known as the “chokladbollens dog”, which means 'the day of the chocolate ball'.
